Art, like any other process cultural, is basically a process of transmission, transfer, continuous dialogue, permanent and necessary. Sometimes we forget that this process involves transgression, disruption, irony, parody, alienation, confrontation, research, exploration, question, answer and of course, ownership. The practice of appropriation has become an essential part of many creative and cultural activities are part of a well-documented tradition in art history.
For some time my work has been developing self-referential in the field of art history and contemporary art. With series like "Swimming with David Hockney" where artists such as Marcel Dupchamp, Picasso, Beuys, Warhol, Hockney and so on. Happy swimming in a pool, or "the miracle of Bas Jan Ader" slept naked bodies at the bottom of turquoise mosaics, which I developed by electrographic, photocopying, digital photography and painting. Other series of photographs as "Good Morning Mr. Jasper Johns" where the bodies piled up on an American flag, or the installation " Arcimboldo The day he invited me to eat " (performed with Rocío López Zarandieta) scholarship from the Foundation Joan Miró.
At this stage where I am today, are the great classics of art history that focused my attention, my great masters such as Dürer, Rubens, Velázquez, Leonardo Da Vinci , etc. are now the benchmarks of my eyes, they are somehow living in an island, a new place of rest and reflection, where you can walk naked, where you can watch dancing naked and without shame to Madame Leblanc by Ingres or sunbathe the very Gioconda with his friend Juan de Pareja, where they await the lovers of Leonardo and Ludovico or sports as newlyweds Arnolfini Marriage.
For the project will grow the entire White Even I used to great works of Art History where the dressing and the pleasure of the clothes were basic in composition, to turn them and deprive them of any clothing except hats or headdresses, using only white dress makeup painting their bodies from head to toe, and all the white background, which gives the piece a great unifying character and a sense of contemporary pure and virginal. Artists such as Van Dyck, Giovanni Battista Moroni, Hans Holbein the Younger, Johannes Vermeer, Agnolo Boncino or Jan Van Eyck, were the "target" of my work. White is also a metaphor of painting, creating anxiety and fear of the blank canvas. Converting
the artist in a kind of Captain ACAP in search of the white whale, which is the pure creation where it joins search and suffering, passion and sense of self-destruction. Using brushes or pixels instead of harpoons and studios or workshops in place of the Pequod. Between irony and reverence.
